Patricia Gee Chiu is a freelance designer with over 20 years of experience in the architectural profession. Graduating with a bachelor's degree in Architecture from Woodbury University, Patricia received an internship with a boutique architectural firm based in Santa Monica assisting the principal architect with high-end luxury home remodels and private education campuses. To explore the diversity of architecture further, her next career move was with a mid-sized firm dealing in both residential and commercial projects. The commercial aspect intrigued Patricia to seek employment with a large international corporate firm which provided her with project management skills and establishing client relationships. After relocating to Orange County from Los Angeles in 2003, Patricia was offered a position with a local Orange County practice that lasted until the unfortunate closure of the office due to the economic downturn. Having two small children at the time, it was an unexpected opportunity to spend more quality time raising them and also a time to consider freelancing after finding herself constantly asked for design advice.
After working on various project types and sizes, her true passion remains within the residential sector and aspires to resonate that passion throughout every project. From the smallest of projects (consultations) to the largest of projects (whole house renovations), her commitment is maintaining healthy relationships with her clients. The reward for the client is the end result of their beautiful transformed space, the reward for the designer is making sure the clients are more content and excited than when the project commenced.
